Euler Through Time: A New Look at Old Themes by V. S. Varadarajan
نویسنده
چکیده

Recurring Themes in Author's Subconscious A Look at a Collection of Short Stories: The Wrong People by Shiva Moghanlou
Little more than a century has gone by after the first applications of psychoanalytic and psychological approaches to literary criticism, however, even in this relatively shorter span, these approaches have been able to open up new perspectives in the analysis and critique of literary texts. In an analysis of three collections of short stories by the Persian writer (Shiva Moghanlou)that were pu...
متن کاملGeorge Mackey and His Work on Representation Theory and Foundations of Physics
This article is a retrospective view of the work of George Mackey and its impact on the mathematics of his time and ours. The principal themes of his work–systems of imprimitivity, induced representations, projective representations, Borel cohomology, metaplectic representations, and so on, are examined and shown to have been central in the development of the theory of unitary representations o...
متن کاملOn the Dimension and Euler characteristic of random graphs
The inductive dimension dim(G) of a finite undirected graph G is a rational number defined inductively as 1 plus the arithmetic mean of the dimensions of the unit spheres dim(S(x)) at vertices x primed by the requirement that the empty graph has dimension −1. We look at the distribution of the random variable dim on the Erdös-Rényi probability space G(n, p), where each of the n(n− 1)/2 edges ap...
متن کاملWeyl Systems, Heisenberg Groups and Arithmetic Physics *
1. Introduction. Arithmetic physics, or better, arithmetic quantum theory, is a term that refers to a collection of ideas and partial results, loosely held together, that suggests that there are connections between the worlds of quantum physics and number theory and that onw should try to discover and develop these connections. At one extreme is the modest idea that one should try to formulate ...
متن کاملAerodynamic Design Optimization Using Genetic Algorithm (RESEARCH NOTE)
An efficient formulation for the robust shape optimization of aerodynamic objects is introduced in this paper. The formulation has three essential features. First, an Euler solver based on a second-order Godunov scheme is used for the flow calculations. Second, a genetic algorithm with binary number encoding is implemented for the optimization procedure. The third ingredient of the procedure is...
